Actual Malice

Back when I lived in Manhattan, I knew slightly a guy who called himself Michael Malice, who was that rara avis, a hardcore Objectivist with a sense of humor. Now he edits the hilarious Overheard in New York weblog and, I've just learned, is being immortalized in a Harvey Pekar graphic novel, Ego & Hubris: The Michael Malice Story. Looks like it'll be entertaining.

Hee hee that's a pretty funny blog. One more thing to keep me from accomplishing anything at work. Thanks for the link.

Kind of like a Scientologist™ with a sense of humor about copyright law.

In Michael Malice's own words:
"I consider myself an anarchist and an elitist. Meaning I do not recognize official social hierarchies, but I am aware that such hierarchies naturally and inevitably exist."
Julian, what makes this guy an Objectivist? If he uttered a statement like that at an ARI gathering, he'd be shamed, cast out, pissed on, and he'd probably end up wearing his ass as a hat.

Overheard in NY is the best blog on the interorg.com. Sometimes you really wonder if people are this stupid, then you go out in public.
