From the end it looks like the guy in the back was looking at them sing on the monitor, I guess making such their lips were synced with the music. Lots of work but that was great!Daniel Montiel | October 24, 2005, 9:10pm | #

I guess I'm the only one who thinks that is the stupidest fucking thing ever? No, you're not.

I watch it, and all I can think about is that those guys spent hour and hours practicing to make that. That, and that there's a reasonable chance neither speaks English.

Ah yes, young citizens under a murderous regime wearing NBA shirts and syncing a decade-old crap pop song. This probably violates countless cultural purity laws.Yep, the revolution will happen any day now...

It appears that their teenagers are no different from ours. That's either the best or worst news that I've heard in quite a while.

3d link:I wanted to put up a link to Ollieman's version of "Aicha," which is funnier than the previous 2 videos combined. Unfortunately, it seems to be gone from the 'Net. Dang Intellectual Property Laws.

"My fav is still the fat kid lip-syncing some Euro-pop dance hit."I think my favorite of all time is the "Star Wars kid" who videotaped himself using a microphone stand as a lightsaber as he went through various flourishes, and then forgot to take the tape out of the camcorder at school, and some other kids put the clip on the WWW.
Unfortunately the guy did not take well to the attention, because he assumed everyone was making fun of him. Well, probably some were, but I bet most actually admired him, like myself. The kid had some moves -- and moxie.

Oh Gawd. Should I mention that my cousin and I used to lipsynch similarly to Judas Priest songs?Stevo-
You better be heading out to the highway, because you're imitation was so bad it was breakin' the law. I'm screaming for vengeance, hell bent for leather, and if you don't think some heads are gonna roll, then you've got another thing coming.
Stevo Darkly | October 25, 2005, 2:37am | #
Oh, call for the priest, because I'm a killing machine, running wild, and I'm going to ripper you a new one.Actually, my Rob Halford imitation isn't bad, considering I can't sing.

Are they mocking the song and the band, or do they love it and are paying it homage?Either way, its global!
Rhywun | October 25, 2005, 10:11am | #
My mind has been blown. My head might explode IF they rip into say, Skinny Puppy... otherwise it just confirms my suspicion that teens (a) have no taste and (b) too much time on their hands.
linguist | October 25, 2005, 10:32am | #
Alright, these links are both stupid and amusing.I like Dave's link best...it had not only two boys doing Dance Dance Revolution without the machine, but also the BEST SOUNDTRACK EVER!!!
If I may philosophize for a moment and make a totally out of line cultural/racial comment... isn't this really an argument for us taking over the world militarily? Instead of kamikaze-karate-communist-army imperialists, Asians are now forced to channel all that energy into...this. It could happen to us too! (shakes head)
ACC | October 25, 2005, 10:37am | #
"If they are mocking it, they are some of the driest and subtle mofos in all of China."You're kidding, right? There was nothing dry or subtle about it. But it was funny.
Tom Tancredo | October 25, 2005, 9:30pm | #
This is an atrocity, and it's exactly what will happen if we continue to let those people in our country!Strong Bad | October 25, 2005, 9:58pm | #
