The advisory jury in the NAACP's lawsuit against the gun industry has concluded that 45 manufacturers and distributors of firearms should not be held responsible for crimes committed with their products. It failed to reach verdicts for 23 other defendants. U.S. District Judge Jack B. Weinstein, hand-picked by the NAACP's lawyer because of his receptiveness to her arguments, can still reject the jury's advice.
