There Is Nothing Left to Lose

Dave Grohl has launched a presidential campaign in the pages of Harp magazine. If elected, the Foo Fighter promises to legalize pot, pardon Foxy Brown, "make war against the law," and give the country "a good, smoky barbecue -- family style, at least once a week, winter months included. Every Sunday....It could be Tuesday, I don't want to say."

Overpowered by his oratory, Harp then folded.

how about "long road to ruin" as the clock-winded-back theme song for the 2000 GOP convention?

His campaign promises are more or less silly than anything Obama, Hillary or McCain have said, and are about as likely to actually happen.

Don't vote for Grohl. Vote for McCain, he's a maverick.

"make war against the law"

Does that mean make war illegal. If so, yawwwwn.

But if he means I'm going to wage war against the law, then sign me up!

This was how I read it the first time around. It never even occurred to me to parse it as make war illegal. Obviously I expected too much from a brain-dead entertainer.

I suspect Grohl is one of the biggest kidders in mainstream music, out to milk teenage money with chant-along choruses and other really clichéd bullshit. He's implied his lyrics are impersonal bunk made up in the studio, which is disheartening for people who fuck to Everlong.

If it's true, it's hilarious. Honestly, who calls a record Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace and really means it?

Grohl running for prez, Novoselic invovled in Washington politics...

Cobain's the only one who did the humane thing.

Grohl is basically the Clapton of his generation.

Considering that he wrote a song for/about the Australian miners who were trapped in the mine and requested an iPod full of Foo Fighters songs (who he later hung out with while on tour), I don't believe this is true.

Will he also change school sex ed curricula to reflect the fact that HIV doesn't cause AIDS?

Well I said he's a kidder, not a monster.

I fully support that smokey barbecue plank.

That's sound politics!
