the reality is if anyone is to be in a positon to effect change they would have to do it with this method. It pains me to watch year after year the candidates in effect 'buying' the office. Started with Kennedy's daddy and has become a discrace.

Dictionary, people.

The effect of using a dictionary is merely an affectation, designed to create an effect on your writing which may, in turn affect someone's opinion of you.

The phrase "to effect change" is an awkward construction to being with. To be honest, I'd have throw it out altogether...

The phrase "to effect change" is an awkward construction to being with.

No kidding. What's wrong with just "change"? Are these people charging by the pixel?

Kohole | February 21, 2008, 4:56pm | #

You can't just have 'change.' You gotta have 'hope' to!

To be honest, I'd have throw it out altogether...

Taktix, now I'm going to play grammar nazi.

The proper writing of the above would be:

"To be honest, I'd have throwed it out altogether... YEEHAAW!"

Just another reason why Republicans would have nominated Ron Paul, if they were smart -- he had enough real Americans actually supporting him that he wouldn't have had to tap into public financing, and thus could have competed financially with the Democrats.

...in a position to affect change...

Dictionary, people.

Sorry Taktix -- N. Ohara had it right the first time.
