Man, that's a little on the tasteless side, isn't it. Oh well, not nearly tasteless enough for me to pitch a fit over. Besides, Rudy pretty much brought it upon himself what with every 10th word out of his mouth being "9-11"

Are you trying to be hurtful?

JOhn C. Randolph | February 1, 2008, 7:14am | #

Speaking of the sunshine state, I think the DEA really wishes that the cops down there had just given this guy back his minivan:

I can just imagine the drug warriors trying to uproot the entirety of American agriculture looking for hybrids like this.

JCR - that's a great great story. Hope someone at Reason can blog it in full...

Mr John C. Randolph,

That's too funny! Thank you for posting that up! I am in your debt!

JCR - If any man deserves a Medal of Freedom (a private one, not the Bush award for incompetency above and beyond the call of duty), it is that professor.

If you want 9/11 tastelessness, watch the South Park segment of The Aristocrats. They managed to top themselves, which I didn't think was possible. Great stuff.

Still too soon!

Wincing here.

JCR- Great story, thanks

"Tasteless" is some fucking martinet clambering over dead bodies trying to obtain a political advantage. I piss on the grave of the Ghoul's Presidential aspirations.

I guess I'll just have to get over watching those 3,000 people die. No biggie.

DavidS | February 1, 2008, 9:48am | #

Tasteless is more palatable when combined with funny - not the case here.

joe | February 1, 2008, 9:51am | #

I'm surprised by my reaction, but those recognizeable cut-off structural bits on the rubble were really a kick in the pants.

Tasteless is using 9/11 to go to pre-emptive war against a country that had nothing to do with it, while ignoring the mastermind behind the attacks.

Who else would I mean? ;)

Rule of thumb: anything labeled as "a funny" is likely not funny.

g.ira | February 1, 2008, 1:56pm | #

What the hell. Screw anyone who's amused by that shit. Mock Rudy all you want, but there is no humor to be drawn from 9/11 imagery. I get that the big criticism is his "9/11 milking," but there are less lazy and vile ways of conveying that sentiment.

Let's lighten up just a little, folks. If Hitler can be funny, anything can.

Brian Sorgatz | February 1, 2008, 7:40pm | #

And to hell with Godwin's Law.

Have you seen CatsThatLookLikeHitler.com?

The sun and the blackbird.

Like a nightingale
coming back in the
dark I hear a
glimmer escaping
in the twigs of
a quietness, and
finally a martin,
smiling and tender.

That is more than a little tasteless.
