It's a weekend. The Burmese don't know about the American News Cycle so they scheduled their civil right violations at the wrong time of the week. The Pakistani's on the other hand, wise in both the ways of the west, and time zone differences...Oh Hell, I can only spew b/s nonsense for so long. I have no friggin' idea. Did anyone really expect free honest elections in Pakistan, anyway?

If I didn't know that they pretend to be libertarians I might think they were committed globalists instead.

Burma also had the advantage of having telegenic monks standing up to a repressive government.Guys in robes trying to use Buddha against guys in military uniforms with AK-47's makes TV people happier than a bunch of "no good pictures" news in Pakistan about people knuckling under to their own dictator.
Of course, I could also go all Democratic Underground here and explain about the MSM doesn't want to be critical of Musharaff, since although at one time Bush did not know his name, they're now best boyfriends.

Kerry,You are allowed to decline invitations to appear on television. For instance, if a demonstrably awful show, such as "Red Eye" invites you on, it isn't in poor taste to politely decline. Don't sacrifice your standards to save face.
