Jesse,

Ha! When you said "extracurricular spycraft" I went in expecting new, schmancy, on-the-down-low helicopter designs in the link that might have been awarded in a complicated, backscratching, quid-pro-quo pork deal to the giant Boeing Helicopter plant in Rep Weldon's district. My bad!

I wonder if Curt "James Bond" Weldon also does analysis.

I don't believe that reactor would be considered near Seattle, prevailing winds and all.

Even though I'm not a diabolical mastermind, I can think of some nukes that would be better targets, if massive carnage was the intended effect.

The quality of his source's info makes me think he should have the code-name, Deep Fisting.

Weldon is obviously exploring a run for President in '08. On the Libertarian ticket. Garden-variety Rs and Ds go to New Hampshire when they get Potomac fever; Libertarians write books that make them look silly.

Still, at least we haven't nominated Lyndon LaRouche. Yet...

Given that Weldon publicly supports the V-22 Osprey, I highly doubt he would get within a quarter-mile of a Libertarian function: http://www.curtweldon.org/issues.htm

Weldon's represents my district. If you want some more evidence of his kookiness, check out this picture. That's him talking at the "coronation" of Sun Myung Moon, next to a picture of him pinning something on a smiling Qaddafi.

Strike "Weldon's" and replace with "Weldon".

"The quality of his source's info makes me think he should have the code-name, Deep Fisting."

Nononono -- being a Pennsylvania story, it should be "Deep Santorum".

As if any evidence were required, this sure proves that Kurt Weldon is a Great American.

On "Meet the Russert," Weldon was given half the show to have a "fair and balanced" debate with Joe Biden, and his statements and positions treated with all the deference of a true statesman working responsibly for his nation's safety.

Then the kook kids sat aroud the table and make snarky comments about how Howard Dean is crazy, man. So it was pretty much a typical Sunday.

phocion | June 13, 2005, 10:52am | #

Now wait just a minute, joe. No one here said that Biden isn't a kook too.

phocion,

I insist that you demonstrate the proper level of respect for the Senator from MBNA.

Remember that Wayne "Curt" Weldon was chairman of the House Subcommittee on Military Preparedness on 9/11. Congress is supposed to oversee the CIA and intelligence agencies. He dropped the ball before 9/11 and is now shifting the blame.
